MB Contract and Signature page

Mr. Sivert and I had a conversation the other day about expectations and the Register My Athlete page. He wants me to make sure that the band is following school and district polices. Since we don’t do physicals for MB (and maybe we should) we really don’t want to do everything on Register My Athlete. Also since all of my stuff is already on line at the this web site we came up with an easy solution. He would like me to have a signature page from every student and parent that indicates you understand the polices. So I created such a document and I now need to collect it. I will have paper copies next week and the first day of school, but if you can get a jump on it, it saves me time. You can find the document here.
Thanks for understanding and just getting it in. Please have it filled out and returned by Aug 21, the second day of school.

Marching Band Time

It’s time to start planning for the next Marching Band Season.  We will be again hosting some Saturday events to introduce what we do to potential students.  The first such event will be held on March 3rd in the band room at the HS.  The other dates include April 7, and two Saturdays in May.

We are in the process of creating an Honor Band for the region.  The dates for that have not been set yet, but will likely require us to cancel one of the May MB clinics.  As soon as that information is locked in we will update you.

Either way you will want to keep both May 12 and 19 free for band.

I think we are good to go / Sweat Week Info

The new site has finally been migrated to the new server.  We should be over the humps now and good to go.  If you find anything missing that you would like access to let me know and I’ll add it.

Sweat Week starts Monday.  Remember that practice is from 7am to 2pm Monday through Saturday.  After 2pm I ask that the kids not make any other plans.  If we need the extra time to finish stuff or have sectionals I need the kids there.

There is no acceptable excuse for missing Sweat Week!  If a student misses any of this week they will be removed from the band.  It is that important.  If there is a once in a lifetime conflict that you really think warrants missing some of this week the student must meet with Mr. Gibson in person prior to the conflict.  The more notice the better.  Only if Mr. Gibson says it is approved will it be ok to miss.  Do not plan on Mr. Gibson approving anything.

We will have a short parent preview Saturday about Noon.  Feel free to come see what we have done.  We will even give you a chance to try what they are doing.  Wear some comfy shoes and something easy to move in.
